The six line positions

Read from the bottom up. These are general themes associated with each position, shared across the 64 hexagrams. They are not this hexagram’s six classical line texts.

  1. Line 1 (Yang · unbroken): the very beginning — hidden potential; enter cautiously and lay groundwork
  2. Line 2 (Yin · broken): the inner, cooperative place — balanced and well-supported; steady progress
  3. Line 3 (Yang · unbroken): the exposed transition out of the lower trigram — risk and doubt; stay careful
  4. Line 4 (Yin · broken): just below the seat of power — serve closely and avoid overreach
  5. Line 5 (Yang · unbroken): the ruling position — central authority; lead with confidence and balance
  6. Line 6 (Yin · broken): the culmination — past the peak; guard against excess and know when to step back

How Ming Clarity creates a reading

Our digital method simulates a three-coin cast using birth details, the question and a date as inputs. It is not a physical coin toss. The result is interpreted alongside BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu as a framework for reflection.
